Soul singer Bilal was born and raised in Philadelphia and is now one of the most dynamic artists of our time. His music is a mix of R&B, jazz, soul, blues, gospel and hip-hop. Bilal was a member of The Soulquarians in the late 1990s, the influential collective that D’Angelo, Questlove, Q-Tip and Common, among others, were also members of. Since the release of Bilal’s debut album “First Born Second” in 2001, the American singer-songwriter, musician, producer and Grammy nominee has been a staple in the playlist of the seasoned neosoul fan. In 2015, he released his most beloved work: ‘In Another Life,’ produced by Adrian Young. He also collaborated on Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ in 2015 and received his first Grammy for it. Bilal has numerous collaborations to his name including with Jill Scott, Jay-Z, Robert Glasper, The Roots, Mac Miller, Solange and Erykah Badu.
