Trumpeter, bandleader, and founder of Gondwana Records, Matthew Halsall encompasses it all. The sound of this artist from Manchester builds upon British jazz and the spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane and Pharaoh Sanders, blended with electronic influences. In addition to his work as a musician, Halsall is also a producer and label manager. He has collaborated with artists such as GoGo Penguin, Mammal Hands, and Portico Quartet, and has helped many young jazz talents record and release their music. In 2020, his album ‘Salute To The Sun’ was released, perhaps his most beautiful and comprehensive recording to date. In 2022, the EP ‘Changing Earth’ was released, showcasing enchanting sounds once again. Halsall is known for his unique blend of jazz, ambient, and spiritual music, often described as calming and meditative. On November 1st, Matthew Halsall will perform at the stunning De Duif church, allowing you to breathe and find tranquility through his exquisite earthly sound.
