Thundercat is the solo project of Los Angeles-based producer, vocalist and virtuoso bassist Stephen Bruner. He began his career as a band member of thrash metal-punk formation Suicidal Tendencies, but quickly made a name for himself with his own music after leaving the band. In 2010, he released the album ‘Cosmogramma’, a collaboration with electronica producer Flying Lotus. This was followed by two solo albums, an EP on Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder and collaborations with the likes of Kendrick Lamar on his ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ and Kamasi Washington on ‘The Epic’.
His third album ‘Drunk’ was released in 2017 and was critically acclaimed thanks to its imaginative mix of seventies funk, R&B and punk with fusion influences, with contributions from sounding names like Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Wiz Khalifa, Kamasi Washington and Flying Lotus. There will be a new album in 2024, and with a new album comes a tour. Paradiso is part of this tour, and it will be on Thursday 11th of April.
