Higherlife Jam will feature Gyedu-Blay Ambolley in this special session on Saturday evening. He is coming to Amsterdam especially for this jam. Together, Junya from Higherlife and Ambolley aim to bring Ghana and the Netherlands closer together while spreading the message of Highlife music. The legendary Gyedu-Blay Ambolley from Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana, is a living icon of Afro-jazz and Highlife. Since his groundbreaking hit ‘Simigwa-Do’ in 1973, Ambolley has enchanted the world with his unique blend of funk, soul, jazz and traditional African rhythms. With 29 albums to his name and more than five decades in music, the master of ‘Simigwa’ remains an inspiring force on stage.
