Line-up complete Super-Sonic Jazz 2023

From Tuesday, November 14 to Sunday, November 19 2023, the seventh edition of the Super-Sonic Jazz Festival will take place at Paradiso, De Duif and Rush Hour in Amsterdam. Today, the festival announces the latest names: Els Di Incredible, Estafette, Godsendo, Jembaa Groove, Platypus.

The annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival is all about innovative jazz at the intersection of R&B, hip-hop, soul, funk and electronic music. The festival first took place in 2017; well-known names like Thundercat, Sons of Kemet, Steve Lacy, Domi and JD Beck, Yussef Dayes, Robert Glasper, Moses Sumney and Hiatus Kaiyote have graced the bill since then. Despite corona, the festival enjoyed successful editions in both 2020 and 2021. In November 2022, more than 5,000 visitors gathered over five days at Paradiso and unique concert venues such as De Duif and record shop Rush Hour.

Super-Sonic Jazz focuses on young people and encourages up-and-coming local talent. On the Sunday of the festival, only homegrown artists are on the programme this year. On 16 November, the compilation album ‘Super-Sonic Jazz Family Vol. 2’ will also be released on Super-Sonic Jazz Records: a cross-section of the contemporary jazz scene in the Netherlands. Some artists featured on the album will also perform on the festival’s Sunday.
