Jembaa Groove

The seven-piece band Jembaa Groove, with its combination of members of African and European descent, is a melting pot of cultures. Together, they have created a contemporary interpretation of highlife, jazz, and soul. Their live performances are energetic and captivating, featuring tight arrangements and spontaneous improvisations that take the audience on a dreamy journey filled with surprising melodies and powerful vocals. The band has previously graced renowned stages worldwide, including SXSW, ESNS, and our very own Super-Sonic Jazz Festival. Their second album, ‘Ye Ankasa I We Ourselves,’ is hot off the press, and the group is ready to share this masterpiece with the rest of the world. They will be doing so on Thursday, October 3rd, at Tolhuistuin.
