QUANZA is a Dutch-Surinamese artist, producer, guitarist, composer, and musicologist. His musical journey began at the age of thirteen, inspired by the legendary Jimi Hendrix, after which he mastered the guitar. Several years later, he was captivated by the music of Flying Lotus, marking the beginning of his adventure as an electronic music producer. His musical style is characterized by an eclectic mix of live instrumentation and electronic sounds, ranging from experimental Hip Hop to electronic jazz.
QUANZA’s music has already caught the attention of artists such as CARISTA, who invited him to contribute to the first album of the Utrecht-based record label United Identities, titled ‘Modern Intimacy’. His debut track ‘A Death Supreme’ on United Identities was quickly picked up by Benji B, the music director of Louis Vuitton, who played it on BBC Radio 1. Shortly thereafter, QUANZA released his first solo single ‘Neon Noir’, receiving praise from leading magazines such as MixMag and Patta, and quickly reaching half a million streams on Spotify.
On Saturday, June 22nd, QUANZA will release his debut EP ‘OPEN THE GATES’ at Paradiso, ready to enter the global music scene.
