Higherlife Collective is a vibrant musical ensemble that brings together the rich traditions of Ghanaian Highlife music, uniting both the young and older generations of talented musicians living in the Netherlands. The collective was founded by the visionary drummer and artist, Junya, whose lifelong passion for Highlife music laid the foundation for this unique musical journey. The collective is not only a celebration of the rich musical heritage of Ghana but also a testament to the power of collaboration between seasoned veterans and emerging talents. The name “Higherlife Collective” itself reflects the group’s commitment to elevating and celebrating the essence of Highlife music, transcending generational boundaries and fostering a sense of unity among its members.

 

For this special night of music they are collaborating with the all-star brass band collective Gallowstreet for a night of highly danceable, horn-infused highlife music.
