On Saturday, August 10, Super-Sonic Jazz and SMIB x TNO Fest are joining forces and for a new Super-Sonic Jam, this time led by Bnnyhunna, Junya, and Phantom Wizard.
Super-Sonic Jam
Super-Sonic Jam originated in the basement of Paradiso during the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival in Paradiso. During these informal jam sessions, musicians and visitors came together to play late into the night; everything was about spontaneity, creativity, and improvisation.
Since early 2024, the Super-Sonic Jams have expanded to Skatecafe, where, after three sold-out editions, the North Sea Jazz Festival and Homelanding Festival were also added to the list. Each jam session gives different musicians the chance to showcase their talent and create something magical together.
SMIB x TNO Fest The SMIB x TNO Fest is an annual festival organized by SMIB and The New Originals in the Bijlmer. SMIB (the reverse of Bims, also known as the Bijlmer) is a brand run by a multidisciplinary collective. Besides organizing the annual festival, they are involved in creating clothing, films, and hip-hop and R&B music. The New Originals began in 2011 as a blog about fashion, design, and music. They quickly became a staple in the Amsterdam nightlife as TNO SoundSystem and grew into a full-fledged brand in 2015.
Our contribution is part of ‘De Hub,’ a project where music venues and talent development organizations from Haarlem, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and The Hague join forces to help emerging artists advance their careers. ‘De Hub’ aims to build a sustainable infrastructure for talented acts, allowing them to further develop artistically, organizationally, and personally. De Hub is a collaborative initiative by Patronaat, Popcentrum Slachthuis, Stichting INI Movement, BIRD, House of Knowledge, Paradiso, Super-Sonic Jazz, PAARD, and Orisun Studio.
