Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2024 · Sunday

Lander & Adriaan, Super-Sonic Jam, Siegfried Hart, Sons of Jumira

Lander & Adriaan

Lander & Adriaan is a Belgian duo consisting of drummer Lander Gyselinck (known from Stuff. and BeraadGeslagen) and Adriaan Van de Velde (known from Pomrad, Mauro Pawlowski, J. Bernardt). Their shared passion for tight digital synthesizers and underground dance music from the nineties brought them together during the first lockdown in 2020. They subsequently released an album in 2022, which turned festivals like Down The Rabbit Hole and Into The Great Wide Open upside down. Their unique mix of nineties dance music, jazz fusion, and improvisation takes you to a world full of fun, weirdness, and excitement. Put them in the middle of the room, add a dose of jazz, and you have everyone dancing.

Super-Sonic Jam

Just like our monthly jam sessions at Skatecafe, we will organize a jam session at the festival this year. A tight backing band takes center stage, this time led by Junior Appiah, surrounded by attendees. Dozens of guest musicians and vocalists are invited to join in during an improvised set. Visitors and amateur musicians are also welcome to join.

Siegfried Hart

Drummer Siegfried Hart from Aruba is passionate about putting down a unique and groovy sound by combining traditional music from the Netherlands Antilles with jazz and hip-hop. His approach to music is experimental and innovative, and he always looks for ways to surprise. He released the groovy track ‘Seu Days’ on our Family Album last year and we’re incredibly excited to see him play his own show this year. It’s going to be a blast!

Sons of Jumira

Sons Of Jumira is a dynamic ensemble rooted in a fusion of cultural inspirations and a commitment to pushing sonic boundaries. Emerging with a focus on genuine improvisation and expressive experimentation, this trio brings a fresh perspective to the world of jazz.  Comprised of double bassist Julian Tjon Sack Kie, drummer Mill Voyance, and harpist Ranie Ribeiro, Sons Of Jumira showcases a wonderful lineup. Each member contributes their distinctive voice to the collective sound, creating captivating and innovative live performances.  With their unique blend of talents and a dedication to musical exploration, Sons Of Jumira promises to intrigue audiences with their boundary-pushing approach at Super-Sonic Jazz.
