Gotts street park
Gotts Street Park is a music collective from Leeds, formed by a group of multi-instrumentalists and producers. They are known for their unique sound, which blends elements of soul, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop. Founded in 2017, the group quickly gained recognition through collaborations with various artists such as Celeste, Rosie Lowe, ENNY, Pip Millet, Olive Jones and Rachel Chinouriri.
Their music is characterized by warm, organic productions with a focus on groove and atmosphere, reminiscent of the golden eras of soul and jazz, but with a modern twist. They are praised for their versatility and their ability to seamlessly fuse different genres, making them popular both within and beyond the traditional jazz and soul scenes.
Gott Street Park is also known for their energetic and intimate live performances, where improvisation and collaboration take center stage.
B. Cool-Aid
B. Cool Aid is a collaborative project in which Pink Siifu and Ahwlee merge their distinct styles to create a mesmerizing fusion of jazz and hip-hop. Pink Siifu, known for his eclectic approach and introspective lyricism, brings a soulful depth to the duo’s sound. Ahwlee, with his innovative production techniques, adds layers of texture and rhythm, pushing the boundaries of traditional hip-hop. Together, they form a dynamic partnership that transcends genres. The duo’s music harmoniously blends jazz and hip-hop, reflecting the energy and diversity of Los Angeles while exploring themes of urban life and cultural identity, inviting listeners on a journey of musical exploration and expression.
DJ Harrison
DJ Harrison is a multi-talented musician, producer, and Grammy-nominated artist from Richmond, Virginia. Growing up in a musically rich environment, he developed an early fascination with instruments, starting with drums and expanding to keyboards and bass. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s jazz studies program, he approaches songwriting with a meticulous, experimental mindset. DJ Harrison co-founded the Jellowstone music production studio and record label, fostering numerous local artists and projects, including his band Butcher Brown. His solo work includes acclaimed albums on Stones Throw, and he continues to pay homage to his musical roots with new releases like “Shades of Yesterday. Get ready for a live show filled with deep grooves, inventive sounds, and a heartfelt celebration of DJ Harrison’s musical roots.
Jimetta Rose
Jimetta Rose, a soulful singer and songwriter from Los Angeles, began her musical journey rooted in gospel and jazz. She started her career performing locally and collaborating with artists like Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Bilal. Her 2010 debut album, “The Barber’s Daughter,” showcased her soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, blending R&B, jazz, and hip-hop. She has performed at major festivals like Coachella and shared stages with Talib Kweli and Robert Glasper. Her recent project, “The Light Bearer,” received critical acclaim, cementing her status as a significant force in contemporary soul music. Jimetta Rose continues to captivate audiences with her unique and soulful sound.
V.C.R.
Memphis-born Veronica Camille Ratliff, known as V.C.R, began her musical journey with gospel choirs and classical violin, influenced by her musical family. She attended Phillips Andover Academy and graduated with a music degree in 2017. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked as a session violinist and Art Docent, collaborating with artists like Mndgsn and Pink Siifu. Her 2019 release “Minnie Lives” brought her significant attention, leading to performances on The Late Late Show and at Afropunk. She also published “The Creative Black Woman’s Playbook,” which sold out internationally. Recently, V.C.R collaborated with Andre 3000 on his album “New Blue Sun,” marking a significant milestone in her career as a pioneer of cinematic soul
OREGLO
oreglo is a London-based collective comprised of four members: c-sé on keys, Linus Barry on guitar, Nico Saggese on drums, and Teigan Hastings on tuba. United by a shared passion for blending genres like jazz, rock, and reggae, their musical influences are diverse and reflect the individual backgrounds of each member.
Despite forming just over a year ago, oreglo has already made significant waves in the music scene. They were hand-selected by Ezra Collective to win the 2023 Lambeth Sounds Emerging Artists x Cross The Tracks competition, performed at the recent Steam Down-curated World Island event in Leeds, supported Gabriels at Somerset House, composed music for The 1975’s North American tour, and garnered support from national radio hosts like Steve Lamacq and Jack Saunders, among others.
SALIMATA
Salimata’s music embodies a vibrant blend of her West African heritage and contemporary influences from Paris. Her soulful voice weaves a tapestry of cultural fusion, reflecting her journey from the villages of Mali to the cosmopolitan stages of Europe. With a commitment to preserving her heritage and empowering women, Salimata’s music resonates with depth and authenticity. Through her debut album, she invites listeners on a rhythmic journey that celebrates the richness of African culture and the power of music to transcend boundaries.
Brintex Collective
Brintex Collective is a Dutch jazz band composed of Brenn Luiten (keys), Christopher Rijckaert (drums), Joop de Graaf (bass), Tommy van Leuken (synthesizer/guitar), Antonio Moreno Glazkov (trumpet), and Diana Dzhabbar (flute/saxophone).
Brintex Collective was formed as a trio in 2020. Their jazz music is influenced by hip-hop and electronic music and draws inspiration from London and American jazz musicians such as Alfa Mist and Robert Glasper. Over the years, the band expanded to include six members. At the end of 2022, they released their first single, “Anthem.” Shortly after, they performed at ESNS in early January. In April 2023, they released their self-titled debut EP. Throughout 2023, they played at various festivals, including the Metropolis Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Valkhof Festival, and Into the Great Wide Open. In 2024, the band is set to perform at ESNS for the second time.
